About The Journal
A Horsewoman's Journal is a meticulously crafted tool designed to support horsewomen in their journey towards becoming more insightful, empathetic, and skilled equestrians. This journal is not just about tracking your daily activities with your horse; it's about deepening your connection, enhancing your self-awareness, and fostering a reflective practice that benefits both you and your horse. The journal blends thoughtful prompts, educational content, and practical guidance to encourage a holistic approach to horsemanship.
Why was it created?
In her career as an equestrian coach, Wiola has realised that while physical and technical skills can be taught relatively easily to many people; cultivating feel, compassion, discipline, patience, and perseverance require a different approach.
These qualities can't be distilled into simple instructions like those for a leg yield; they necessitate introspection and self-awareness. Growing up, she longed for a resource like this journal—a guide to help develop these essential mental and emotional skills in herself and the horses alongside technical abilities.
The Creation Process
To ensure A Horsewoman's Journal meets the needs of a diverse range of horsewomen, two types of testing were conducted. Firstly, Wiola carried out a six-month ongoing test with her riders, refining the journal based on their feedback. Secondly, an independent focus group of 48 women from the UK, Poland, New Zealand, Germany, and the USA was formed.
These horse owners came from various levels, backgrounds, and aspirations. By listening to their feedback, the journal was refined to create a tool that not only enhances horsemanship but also provides ongoing benefits in daily life. The goal was to create a resource that encourages continuous personal growth and development.
Future Plans
We're excited about the future of A Horsewoman's Journal. This current version available to purchase is our first edition Guide plus Check-In Journal, designed to introduce you to the transformative practice of reflective horsemanship. Beyond the physical journal, we are developing
A Horsewoman's Journal Online, an interactive and dynamic learning resource available here on the Horsemanship Nexus website.
This online platform will offer additional insights, exercises, and a supportive community of like-minded horsewomen.
Should you find this initial experience engaging, we would love for you to continue your reflective journey with us. We will be offering a subscription service for monthly Check-In pages, where each month you will receive a new set of prompts to further deepen your connection and understanding.
This ensures that your practice remains fresh and continually evolves, fostering ongoing personal and equestrian growth.
